“I gave you all I had, what more can you ask?”
This song is a little bit of a love/hate letter from me to my music career. Believe me, I feel incredibly blessed that I’ve been able to figure out how to continue to chase this dream, but so often felt like I didn’t have any more to give. I felt like I’d given all that I had.
I wrote this a few years ago, but it still feels very real and relevant to the way I feel now. Every day is a new challenge. But what I’ve learned, is that anything truly worth doing is worth doing with everything you’ve got. Anything short of that, leaves too much room for your dreams to slip through the cracks.
I’m incredibly proud of this song. I am in love with the way we captured the feeling in the studio. My producer, Pat Hanlin, did a magical job of helping me convey the timeless sentiment that I was envisioning. It felt like the perfect title track for an album that is comprised of songs that span over a decade of my songwriting and experience as an artist.
I’ve given it all I have… and I will continue to do so. As a guy who has never felt fully comfortable in my own skin, for some odd reason, I feel right at home behind the mic and in front a crowd. I get to disappear into a melodic story for 3.5 minutes at a time.

I’ve been doing some regional touring with my trio and having an absolute blast. We’ve visited Rhode Island, Boston, Vermont, Maine, and NY so far and the shows have been incredible. Here’s a stripped down semi-acoustic live version for you from Boston:

I absolutely love the artwork that we captured for this record and all of the singles. I am not super comfortable in front of the camera, which is weird becuase I do LOVE being the center of attention. I just feel so strange when I have to pose. My good friends, creative director Dave Bates and Photographer Austin Huck helped me feel like these shots were a bit more candid, helping me to relax a bit and we had a lot of fun.
We shot some BTS footage with a vintage VHS camera, and I was able to grab some amazing moments where got the actual shot for the album cover. Completely unplanned, but very cool.
