A Little About Me
I was a bit of a late bloomer when it comes to music. I didn’t discover that I could sing, until I was about 21, and didn’t learn to play guitar until I was about 28… Despite showing up a little late to the party, I have done some pretty cool things in the past 10 years.
I’ve toured the country, accidentally made it to the Top 12 of NBC’s The Voice, made Celine Dion Cry (in a good way) and my songs have racked up over 25 Million streams on Spotify alone!
So why am I giving away a CD?
That’s a good question. The answer is, while I definitely feel blessed to have such an amazing group of fans streaming my music, I have always felt a bit disconnected from these numbers.
25 Million, is such a massive number that doesn’t even register in my head. In fact, I currently have about 120,000 monthly listeners, and that number makes my head spin. It doesn’t seem real.
Do you know what does seem real? Writing a thank you note, signing a CD, stuffing it in an envelope and walking it down to the Post Office, knowing that in a couple of days, it will be in somebody’s car. To me, it doesn’t get more real than that.
I’ve now mailed out hundreds and hundreds of albums and it has been a highlight of my last 6 months!
